Father of the Ninja

Matt Black is a musician. One could easily imagine him playing folk songs on a "Peace in Viet-Nam" guitar... Actually he is a DJ, certainly the father of modern electro. With his band Coldcut, they invented Remix twenty years ago and keep on experimenting in music, video, web television, art installations, radio... They also created the world-famous label Ninja Tune.

It usually takes some time for the model to feel comfortable with me and be able to give something personnal. No need with Matt. He came all chakras open, all I had to say was "Please stand here".
When I'm grown up, I want to have this inner peace (and some of this talent, please)

Photographer and his work

During the first days of my tour in Norway, on the main place of the small town of Kragerø, I saw a poster for a photoexhibition.
Very simple, with beautiful black and white woods on, written Jomfruland under.
It was quite dark, could be seen as gloomy, or on the contrary full of hope. Anyway it was worth changing my travel plans to take the ferry and cruise to the island of Jomfruland to see Lars Petter Paulsen's Lysninger exhibition.

He takes real medium-format film photographs. Not like those so-called photographers who digitally edit their portraits for hours...

Robert Post

Thursday, November 30, 2006
00:29

A very important issue is eventually finding its answer right here: What is under norwegian pop singer Robert Post's cap?

Well, concerning real important issues: If you are french, it is great time to get registered on voting lists. Don't you dare saying you didn't know.

Texas Terri Bomb

Wednesday, November 15, 2006
02:56

She is said to be the "female Iggy Pop", , Texas Terri is much more than this. Of course she is wild and Rock'n'Roll, but she also has the strong temper it takes to make a woman respected.

Separation

Monday, November 06, 2006
01:45

Eventually, my portfolio now features two categories: personal pictures, which I have done for my own pleasure, and professional ones, that I have been ordered, be it for a magazine or CD cover...

Here is a short introduction to the photographs you do not know yet...

Alex Dropsy,
french BMX rider, for Desillusion Magazine.

Freygolo,
ska-punk band, for the japanese release of their album

Michael Pyro,
Lead singer of Republic Of Loose.

Cali

Monday, June 05, 2006
01:12

Cali is the living proof that one can be sensitive, tell about love, even cry on stage, and still be a man...
Besides, he is deeply involved in fathers' rights and immigration rights.

Café Sør

Thursday, June 01, 2006
14:31

So, you think the waitress likes you, because she gives you this lovely smile? Oh yes, she just cannot resist your oh-so-special sense of humor. Come on, trust her, and have a drink...

Tusen takk til Synne og Maria, på Café Sør, Oslo.

Jean-Pierre Foucault

Saturday, May 27, 2006
01:09

He is one -if not THE- most famous character of the french TV. Jean-Pierre Foucault has been working on the radio and TV since 40 years now, and actually is the french host for "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire".

Cinderella?

Monday, May 15, 2006
01:26

I don't remember if I shot this picture before or after seeing Andrzrej Dragan's Sztuka Miesa. In any case, I cannot deny his influence on me.

So, this picture happened to have be shot a couple of minutes before Cinderella lost her shoe.

Model: Eva

Hanin Elias

Monday, May 08, 2006
19:25

Until now, Hanin Elias has lived as a punk teenager in Berlin, sang world-wide with Atari Teenage Riot, created her own record label, owned an art gallery with her husband... And she is changing her whole life tomorrow. Flying to the other side of the planet and starting it all over with her family.

I had the opportunity to meet her a couple of days ago in Potsdam, before she leaves Europe.

So this is the very last photosession of her former life. It was an honour, danke Hanin.

François Corbier

Monday, April 17, 2006
12:37

Quand j'étais petit, je voyais des gens faire les couillons pour les enfants, à la télé. Corbier est maintenant devenu grand, moi juste un peu moins petit, et il est un chanteur épatant.

Corbier is a star from my childhood. He used to co-animate a youth TV show. He is now a funny, politically involved chanson singer.

Anatomie Bousculaire

Thursday, April 13, 2006
15:50

These three girls -Alice, Cécile and Anne-Julie- play rock. Dark, sensual, both violent and sensitive rock. And they are much more than just goth chicks, thanks to their energy and political involvement. Here is a photo session with Anatomie Bousculaire.

Lost Doll

Wednesday, March 15, 2006
05:26

A music box, forgotten in the attic. Its dancing doll wishes she could visit the outter world, but she has to leave her ballet shoes stuck into the box. A serie, featuring MarieV.

No, nothing new...

Monday, March 13, 2006
23:41

You may have noticed a little change around here... I hope you enjoy the new design.
As for new photographs, please keep on being patient... until tomorrow (and don't say "it's a quarter to midnight", only 15 minutes until tomorrow!")
Good night...

Clément

Wednesday, December 21, 2005
03:13

Clément is my favourite model. We had lots of fun shooting this serie
of portraits (this is the first part), and despite his fame and great guitar, he
still doesn't consider himself as a rockstar. So ladies, I got his number...

Welcome...

Saturday, December 17, 2005
04:33

I hate first posts. The first post on a blog is something so boring...
Still, I'm quite happy and proud to show you my new design. Of course, the site is quite empty for the moment, but it will soon have a decent Live Concerts Gallery, and maybe -if you are kind- some other surprises.
Do not hesitate to leave a comment, even in non-english language. Available languages: [En] [Fr] [De] [It] [P] [Es] and many more! (unless you want me to understand it) (I told you it would be boring...)
For the messy-original-site-nostalgics, the old version is still online.

To me, shooting somebody's portrait means trying to reveal a part of my model's soul. If one allows me to enter her/his mind, then these photographs are meant to be a door we left opened through the eyes, so you can see deep inside who she/he is.
Unless it reveals more about me...
